Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated September 2026.

This policy applies to everyone who uses a Sanvoice phone system, internet-facing service or hosted account. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

KEEP YOUR CREDENTIALS SAFEExtension passwords are attacked constantly by automated scanners. If someone gets hold of yours they can place international calls billed to your account, often thousands of dollars' worth overnight. Do not reuse passwords, do not share them outside your business, do not post them, and tell us immediately if you think one has been exposed so we can change it.
CALLS YOU MAY NOT MAKENo unsolicited bulk or automated calling, no prerecorded messages to people who have not consented, no spoofed or misleading caller ID, and nothing that breaks the Telephone Consumer Protection Act or state telemarketing law. If you run any kind of outbound campaign, tell us first — legitimate campaigns need setting up properly, and unannounced ones look identical to fraud from our side.
NO FRAUD OR ILLEGAL USEDo not use the service to commit fraud, to harass or threaten, to distribute malware, to infringe copyright, or for anything unlawful.
FAIR USE ON UNLIMITED PLANS"Unlimited" means normal business calling. It does not cover call centres, dialler traffic, resale of minutes, continuously open channels, or automated call generation. If usage on a plan looks nothing like business use we will talk to you about moving to a plan that fits.
NO RESALE WITHOUT AGREEMENTDo not resell the service, or provide it to a third party as though it were your own, unless we have agreed that in writing.
NETWORK AND SYSTEM ABUSENo port scanning, no attempts to gain access to systems you are not authorised to use, no denial-of-service traffic, no deliberately overloading shared infrastructure.
EQUIPMENTDo not modify firmware on provisioned handsets, or reconfigure them to register against another provider, while they are on a Sanvoice plan.
WHAT WE DO ABOUT BREACHESIf we see traffic that looks like fraud or compromise, we may suspend the affected extension or account immediately and without notice — that speed is what limits the bill. For anything less urgent we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix it. Repeated or deliberate breaches can end the service.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR CHARGESCalls placed through your account are billed to your account, including calls placed by someone who obtained your credentials. We will help you investigate and will do what we reasonably can with our carrier, but we cannot guarantee those charges will be reversed. This is why the first paragraph of this policy matters.
REPORTINGReport abuse, suspected compromise or anything else on this page to info@sanvoice.com or 866.675.4775.
